Designed as the standard Southern Railway shunters, the 8 members of the ‘Z’ class built in 1929, were quiet and efficient.

Utilising the cylinders from the SE&CR ‘N1’, a boiler based on the LB&SCR ‘C3’, and some nifty valve gear modifications, they were the combination of all the best bits of the Southern Railway and its consituents.

In their later days they found employment as bankers on the short but steeply graded line between Exeter St. Davids and Exeter Central.

Sadly, no ‘Z’ class engines were preserved, but you can experience the quiet power of the class in this add-on.

ENHANCER ISSUES:

The ‘Z’ class has been developed without the use of third-party enhancers which modify the shaders in Train Simulator, Therefore, if you use an enhancer program you may see decal, glass or texture issues, depending on your settings. These issues can be resolved by disabling the enhancer while using the ‘Z’ class or possibly by modifying the settings in the enhancer.
